Together with Aveda, the Shear Success team, family and clients, from Tamworth and Sutton Coldfield, held a Walk for Water in honour of Earth Month and in support of Global Greengrants Fund an organisation working to support and preserve clean water around the world.
This year, Aveda introduced a new global initiative that acknowledges the daily struggle of over one billion people around the world who do not have access to clean water. The Aveda Walk for Water campaign united the Company’s network and guests in a series of walks around the world to raise awareness and funds to protect clean water.
The Shear Success walk took place on Wednesday 8th April 2009 at 6.30pm and covered five miles around Sutton Park collecting water along the way, the average distance that women in developing countries walk to collect water per day.
We raised a FANTASTIC £610 !!!!!
"Water is a supply we all take for granted, we just turn on a tap!! The shear success team felt that by walking 5 miles which is the distance people around the world walk to collect their supply it would help make us all realise just how lucky we are."

For the third consecutive year, Aveda has partnered with as their exclusive global Earth Month partner to provide grants for community-based water projects around the world. Global Greengrants Fund provides small grants to grassroots organisations working for clean water, clean air, sustainable livelihoods and healthy communities in Africa, Asia, Latin America and island nations around the world.
Earth Month 2009 builds upon the momentum created by the Aveda Earth Month 2007 and 2008 campaigns to work towards making clean water a human right and accessible to every person on the planet.
